There was a man who was a journalist. His name was Asakawa Kazuyuki.
He investigated an incident that his niece and her three friends died an unnatural death.While he were looking over the incident, he found that they stayed at a cottage in Izu one week ago and he also find a video tape at the cottage. Then he watched it carefully, but the contents of this video was incomprehensible. The end of this video, however, there ware some words.
"If you watch this video, you will die after seven days later."
Then Mr.Asakawa talked over with Takayama Ryuji who was a lecturer of university.
According to Mr.Takayama's idea, this video was a serious not a joke.Therefore, Mr.Asakawa and Mr.Takayama made every effort to know the fact before therir death would come, but Mr.Asakawa's wife and his daughter also wathched this video! What happened to them!?
Finally, Mr.Asakawa found the truth of this video.It was a "hard feelings (grudge)" of Yamamura Sadako who was killd by someone many years ago.Sadako's body was still in a old well and ...yes... the old well was in Izu where Mr.Asakawa's niece and her friends stayed.
Mr.Asakawa thought that if he pulled up Sadako's body and held a memorial service for her, Sadako's "spite" would have gone. Then he translated his idea into action, but at the same time, seven days has passed since he had watched the video. But he was still alive! Why? However he...
